Gubahan Pecinta (meaning "Poems of a Lover"), subtitled "A Travel Guide," is exactly that. It is Syekh Fattaah's first published collection of poems, in nine different languages. Gubahan Pecinta is not just a literary work of art but an expression of divine love, along with secrets and keys to the path of inner purification. These poems are the words of a Sufi immersed in the sea of His love; whether the poem is in English, Hindi or any of the other languages the subject is the same. This volume is a delight and a treasure for those who enjoy reading the words of the enlightened ones, inspired by their Beloved to bring out and attempt to express what is wrapped up in their inner being. This collection includes poems in English, Indonesian, Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish and Italian. Four full color illustrations by the Indonesian artist Ramdan are interspersed throughout the book. Syekh Fattaah is also the songwriter and inspirational engine behind the music group DEBU. *Along with this book comes a full 12 track music CD by DEBU featuring some of the poems. The CD is also entitled Gubahan Pecinta. Syekh Fattaah was born in the U.S. but now resides in Indonesia. Syekh, written and pronounced "Shaykh" in English, is the title given to spiritual teachers who have been granted permission by their teachers to instruct others on the Sufi path. He carries the banners of the Shadhili, Chisti, Qadiri and Rufai Sufi orders. Enjoy! |
